Hey! I'm Kaeli. I thought grappling was cool, and totally not meant for me. I've never been a tomboy, but decided I wanted to try anyway.

About Learning BJJ.png

welcome to learning bjj

Little did I know, I would fall in love.

I started the blog Learning BJJ in 2015, 'cause when I started training, there wasn't a whole lot of info out there specifically for new girls like me in jiu jitsu.

I felt like I didn't have anyone to talk to.

Since the first post, you wouldn't believe how much email I get from people around the world - of all belt levels - sharing their jiu jitsu stories.

We've met some people along the way who don't think that lower belts should have much of a voice.

Well, that's their problem, not ours ;)

Read on, write on, and train on, my friends. In the end, it's your journey.

I discovered your blog literally three hours ago, looking for someone who can express what I'm thinking.
Thanks for sharing your journey, and thanks for being that female friend we all as girls need on the mats.

You inspired me & helped me gain the confidence to start my own jiu jitsu blog.
I really appreciate all of the advice on starting a blog & your perspective as a woman in jiu jitsu.
